Terms of Use

In short: Captured Clean helps you find and remove files, but you choose what goes. Pro is a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, tied to your Apple sign-in. You can cancel a subscription at any time.

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Captured Heart (“we”, “us”) for the Captured Clean apps for Mac and iPhone and this website. By using them, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you got the iPhone app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where it conflicts with these terms, it wins for the iPhone app.

2. Your license

We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use Captured Clean on devices you own or control. Please don’t resell the app, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or try to get around Pro features or free limits.

3. Removing files and photos

Captured Clean shows what it finds and only removes items you select and confirm.

On Mac, removed items go to the Trash. They stay there until you empty it.
On iPhone, deleted photos go to Recently Deleted, where Photos keeps them for up to 30 days. Files you delete in the app are removed from the folder you chose.

You are responsible for reviewing items before removing them and for keeping backups of anything important. Some items, such as caches, are rebuilt by other apps; others, such as device backups and archives, can’t be recreated.

4. Free and Pro

Captured Clean is free to download. The free version includes scanning and browsing, plus a monthly allowance of cleanup that resets on the 1st of each month. Pro removes those limits and unlocks extra features. The current free allowance and Pro features are listed in the app and on our pricing section; we may change them, but changes won’t reduce what you’ve already paid for during a paid period.

5. Subscriptions

Plans: Pro Monthly and Pro Annual. Prices are shown before you buy, including any tax that applies where you live.
Automatic renewal: a subscription renews at the end of each period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
Free trial: the annual plan may include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. If you don’t cancel during the trial, you’ll be charged for the first year when it ends.
Cancelling: on iPhone, in your Apple account settings (Settings › your name › Subscriptions). On Mac, from Settings › Pro › Manage subscription in the app, or the link in your receipt email. Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Price changes: we’ll tell you before a new price applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.

6. Lifetime purchase

Pro Lifetime is a one-time payment for Pro access with no renewals. “Lifetime” means for as long as we offer and support Captured Clean, including future updates to the Mac and iPhone apps. If we ever stop offering Captured Clean, we’ll give at least 6 months’ notice.

7. Your account

Signing in with Apple lets you use one Pro purchase on all your Macs and iPhones signed in with the same Apple ID. On iPhone you can buy without signing in; signing in later links the purchase to your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Account. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an active App Store subscription; cancel that in your Apple account settings.

8. Refunds

See our Refund Policy. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple.

9. Feedback

If you send ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Captured Clean without any obligation to you.

10. Disclaimer

Captured Clean is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it accurate and safe, but we can’t promise it will be free of errors or that every item it lists is safe to remove in your situation. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be waived.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data you chose to remove. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for Captured Clean in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Ending these terms

You can stop using Captured Clean at any time. We may suspend Pro access if you break these terms, for example by sharing or reselling access. Sections 3, 10 and 11 continue to apply after these terms end.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above, and for significant changes we’ll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Captured Clean after that, the new terms apply.
